FAQ

  • I am currently paneled with Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield.  This generally extends to out of state insurance as well.  However, you should always check with your specific insurance policy to ensure that they have me listed as an accepted provider.  I do not utilize a billing company.  Therefore, I am unable to check with each individual insurance policy regarding coverage.

  • I charge 150.00 for a 55-minute session.  The initial intake is a one-time charge of 175.00.  I do not offer sliding scale to new clients.  However, if I have a client that is active in the treatment process and loses their insurance or undergoes a financial hardship, I will temporarily lower my rate so they can continue with treatment.

  • I am fully virtual currently.  I hope in the future to have a hybrid practice that enables me to see clients in person 2 days a week.  However, this generally involves sub-leasing an office.  Thus far, I have not found an office that meets compatibility with both aesthetics and availability for desired usage.

  • I have worked with children of all ages in the past.  However, over the years my preference has changed to work with ages 16 and up.

  • This will depend on your level of needs and current level of functioning in your life.  If you are having difficulty managing your emotions and it is negatively impacting your everyday life, you will most likely benefit from weekly sessions until you feel a bit more stable.  If you can manage your sense of emotional well-being but want to work on specific issues, bi-weekly sessions will most likely be sufficient.  If you are simply eager to do some healing work and see quicker results, weekly therapy is recommended to start your process.

How long you will have to be in therapy is entirely up to you.  Therapy is a collaborative process. While I provide recommendations, the decision to continue therapy ultimately lies with you. Some clients may engage in therapy for short periods, while others opt to continue for extended durations to address core issues and facilitate ongoing healing, growth, and expansion. Some clients may eventually reduce their sessions to once a month to monitor their management of emotional needs. However, this frequency is generally not recommended for new clients as it may not be therapeutic at the outset.
