Meet Melissa Persechini
Melissa Persechini, founder of the Women and Girls Empowerment Center, combines professional expertise with personal experience. As a licensed social worker and trauma specialist, she is dedicated to guiding women and girls through their healing journey with compassion and evidence-based techniques. Her mission is simple: to help you embrace self-compassion, build resilience, and rediscover your strength.

Turning broken
into beautiful
Kintsugi (Japanese: 金継ぎ, lit. 'golden joinery'), also known as kintsukuroi (金繕い, "golden repair"), is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with urushi lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum.
Founded in 2015, the Women and Girls Empowerment Center was created to address the shared struggles many women face. Like the ancient Japanese art of kintsugi, which mends broken pottery with gold, we believe that strength and beauty emerge from life’s cracks and imperfections. Despite their remarkable resilience, many women battle self-doubt, feelings of inadequacy, and the pressure to meet societal expectations. Guilt, anxiety, depression, and trauma can create fractures in self-worth, leading to self-criticism. Our mission is to provide a space where women can recognize their inner strength, heal from past wounds, and embrace their worth—not in spite of their struggles, but because of them. Just as kintsugi transforms broken pieces into something even more valuable, we help women rebuild with confidence, knowing their scars are a testament to their journey, not a mark of weakness.

Many struggle with the belief that they must always succeed, always be happy, and never falter. However, true healing begins when we allow ourselves to embrace imperfection, acknowledge all emotions, and understand that struggles do not define us.
The Women and Girls Empowerment Center was founded on the belief that every woman and girl has the innate power to heal, grow, and reclaim her life. With the right support and guidance, they can transform self-doubt into self-compassion, break free from limiting beliefs, and create a future shaped by confidence and hope.

Services
Your first consultation is free and lasts about 15 minutes via phone or video. It’s a chance to share your needs, ask questions, and explore if we’re a good fit.
Initial Consultation
I currently don’t offer a group but may in the future based on interest. If you’d like to join, reach out so I can consider forming a new support group.
Group Therapy
Therapy is a collaborative process where you set priorities. I use IFS, mindfulness, and somatic techniques to help with trauma, anxiety, depression, and more.

Finding the right therapist can be a daunting task, but I hit the jackpot with Melissa! I had previously worked with a psychologist specializing in CBT.
